Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th August, 1956 at Woodland Hills, California, the youngest and only daughter of Richard McCormick. Her parents were Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father was a schoolteacher while her mother was home-based mom. Michael, Dennis, and Kevin are her three older brothers. From a young time, McCormick loved to sing and dance. She also often stage puppet shows for the neighborhood children. Following her win in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of six, Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency called her asking if McCormick wanted to get into the showbiz. Her first major role came in 1964 when she was featured in a commercial for Mattel's newly released doll "Baby Pattaburp." Her next job of note was a television commercial for "Chatty" the Cathy doll. The play Wind It and It breaks that took place at the La Jolla Playhouse and was subsequently followed. McCormick was a candidate for the role in the TV show "The Brady Bunch.' She was chosen from more than 1,200 other children to portray the larger of the twins on the TV show The Brady Bunch. Florence Henderson was the lead character as newlyweds as well as Robert Reed, the blended family. The show ran for five years. McCormick revealed in her 2008 memoir"Here's The Story: Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she was close to having ended her relationship with the fifth season of the show in the company of Barry Williams, her co-star and onscreen brother. The actress was sixteen years young, while the actor was 19, at that moment. This could have happened, she says. "But the timing for us was never just right."
